Minster Theatre technical information

Get In information:

Access from our adjacent car park, up a ramp (width) and into the building on level ground (fine for flight cases, amps, instruments, costumes etc.). For rigid flats and other large items, access at front of building, through double doors (width & height of smallest doorway) and into the Theatre.

Parking: 

A small number of car/van parking spaces are available in our adjacent car park.

Additional parking for performers and audience etc. in Allenview car park, a minute from the Centre (free after 6pm).

Stage:

Proscenium arch stage with steps stage right to exterior corridor (to/from dressing rooms) and to auditorium floor stage right and stage left. Temporary steps stage apron to auditorium floor available, if required.

Rear crossover.

Choice of white cyclorama or black rear wall.

Red FOH tabs and mid-blacks.

Please note that due to the size of our projector screen, it's not possible to have performers on stage (except maybe one speaker) while the screen is down.

Storage facilities:

We have very limited storage for anything long-term but it may be possible to store costumes, props etc. for the duration of your run. Please enquire.

Wardrobe, Dressing & Green Room facilities:

We have additional backstage rooms that can be hired and used for these purposes (all have window curtains or blinds). Tables and chairs can be supplied in these rooms. One coat rail available.   

Filming your show:

You can video your show from the auditorium floor, as long as i) access to fire exits is maintained, ii) your equipment does not present any trip or other hazard and iii) camera operator stays with your equipment throughout. The Allendale Centre can take no responsibility for theft of or damage to your equipment.

It may be possible to video your show from the technical position (rear of auditorium), depending on use of follow spot etc. Please enquire. 

Bar facilities:

Fully licenced bar available at rear of auditorium, house right.

Cafe @ the Allendale:

Open day times Monday - Saturday and run as a franchise, the Cafe can often be opened evenings and Sundays for shows. Please enquire.
