- Banners | Allendale Community Centre
Banner advertising for events and hires at the Allendale, Wimborne. Outdoor banners Roadside frames by Hanham Road For regular (weekly/monthly) hires: We can display your banner, on rotation with other regular hire banners. These are usually placed on the rear of the roadside frame. Required banner size is 5ft wide (left to right) x 3ft high (top to bottom) (152cm x 91cm) . For other locations, maximum size is 5ft wide (left to right) x 3ft high (152cm x 91cm) . We will mount the banner for you. For events: Event banners can also be displayed, when space allows. R equired banner size is 5ft wide (left to right) x 3ft high (top to bottom) (152cm x 91cm) . These are displayed facing Hanham Road, whenever possible. We will mount the banner for you. Charges: There is no charge to display one banner on the roadside frames, when space allows. Displaying a second banner (likely to be on the Café railings or fence) attracts a charge of £6 per week. Roof banner A banner mounted on the frame above our front doors needs to be: 3ft 5in wide x 5ft high (104cm x 152cm) . We recommend a mesh banner or one with wind flaps, to cope with the wind. This is a prime display location and can be a very effective way to promote your event. Roof banner display fees: £30 per week or £100 per calendar month. We will mount the supplied banner on the frame but please check the space is available before ordering a banner. We're often looking for volunteers to help day-to-day. Read this page and get in touch if you'd like to help! Volunteering at the Allendale Allendale Community Centre is run by a small team of employees, greatly assisted by a number of volunteers. We’re often looking for extra volunteers to help out – could that include you? Meeting people If you enjoy meeting and helping people both on the phone and face to face, maybe you’d like working on our busy reception desk where there’s always plenty to keep you occupied. Would that interest you? Why not pop in and do a trial morning with us? On with the show With a huge increase in the number of theatre shows, live bands and films on offer at the Centre, we’re always looking for people to greet theatregoers and check their tickets. Your reward would be free entry to the show! Practical & Technical If you prefer something more practical or physical, we can use your skills for setting up rooms, light maintenance, or gardening around the Centre. If you have sound or lighting skills then maybe you could assist backstage in the Minster Theatre. Catering Café @ the Allendale and Wimborne Community Food Supply, based at the Centre, are often looking for volunteers – contact us to find out more. Why volunteer at the Allendale? It’s a lovely place to work, everyone’s friendly, you get to meet new people, it’s an opportunity to socialise, and you get a great sense of satisfaction! Vehicle access and parking at the Allendale, Wimborne. Location & vehicle access: We're on Hanham Road, Wimborne (BH21 1AS), opposite The Olive Branch pub and next door to Allendale House. By the pedestrian crossing you'll see an entrance that leads to Allendale House (East Dorset Heritage Trust) car park and then, through gates that are normally open, into our car park. Delivering: Pull into our car park and go to Reception, inside the front entrance (unless you have a different instruction from The Allendale Café). Unloading: If you're unloading, e.g. to trade at a market or craft fair etc., you may unload in our car park. It's then preferable to park in adjacent Allenview car park: turn left back onto Hanham Road, left at the 2nd roundabout, then left into the public car park. At the end of the event you're welcome to return to our car park to load up. Parking (Sunday to Thursday): If you're attending an event at the Allendale or using facilities including The Allendale Café, you're welcome to use our car park if a space is available. Please do not park in the 'Staff Only' bays, or a disabled bay unless you have an entitlement. If there's no space available, please use adjacent Allenview car park (free after 6pm): turn left back onto Hanham Road, left at the 2nd roundabout, then left into the public car park. Image & print design for marketing material We're happy to use your digital image and print to help advertise your event, but there are a few requirements. Please read these notes and please send a proof, before printing, to marketing@theallendale.org First, your image should include our new (2025) logo, probably in a corner. If you've previously used the 'a' logo, this is being phased out and should no longer be used. This is the new logo: Your image should also contain our location and contact information, plus ticket info if the event is ticketed. For ticketed events, add: Advance ticket price e.g. £20 + £1.56 booking fee* Book at theallendale.org/tickets Or call 01202 887247 Allendale Community Centre, Hanham Road, Wimborne BH21 1AS *If the customer books online or over the phone through TicketSource (0333 666 3366), they will pay ticket price + 7.8% booking fee. We will advise the correct booking fee(s) once we know your ticket price(s). If the customer books at the Allendale or over the phone (01202 887247), they pay no booking fee. Venue Security at Allendale Community Centre To keep visitors, performers and staff safe at Allendale Community Centre, we employ measures including but not limited to: 24-hour CCTV recording, inside and outside the building Bag searches on entry to events (large bags or similar may not be permitted and may have to be left outside – avoid bringing if possible) Uniformed and/or plain-clothed security staff Rehearsed evacuation and invacuation plans Monitoring the current National Threat Level and adapting our measures to any change Please speak to us in advance if you're organising an event and have any security concerns. Marketing & ticket sales for event organisers & hirers Thank you for choosing the Allendale for your event or regular activity If your event/activity is open to the public, we can offer marketing assistance to support your own advertising, and we'll set up ticket sales if the event's ticketed. Marketing assistance Image & print design - please read first We're happy to use your digital image and print to help advertise your event, but there are a few requirements. Please read more here . If an image isn't approved, we may not be able to use it on this website, TicketSource, social media, e-newsletter, Monthly Event Guides or TV screens, or put print on display, until it's amended. Digital image & copy Please provide a good quality jpg or png event image (not pdf, please - won't display on website), and up to 50-60 words of copy, in a Word document or email. Include info about age suitability and any theatrical hazards, if appropriate. Print Please provide 2 x A4 posters and a quantity of A5 or A6 flyers, if you have them. Reception TV displays For a small fee, we can display your event image or video on one of our Reception TVs: TV above Reception desk (still images) We need a jpg or png, preferably in landscape orientation, but portrait will do. Usually displayed for a month before the event; longer periods available. (Please see Image & print design ). Fee: £20 per month . Also available to regular hirers, as an ongoing display - please enquire. TV adjacent to Minster Hall & Theatre main entrance (videos) We need an mpg file (other formats may work but may have to be tried), in 16:9 format. Max. 1 minute 30 second duration. Please note that as videos are run all day on a loop, the volume is turned down. Please ensure essential info is visually displayed. Fee for those with a forthcoming show here: £30 per month . Also available to local business to advertise - please enquire with us. We also distribute Allendale Newsletter (subscribe for free, here) and aim to include all events in the month ahead, and we produce a monthly What's On Guide that can be collected by visitors to the Allendale and from selected local libraries. Tickets We offer a professional ticket sales service, partnering with TicketSource We'll set up tickets and you'll be given the page address, to use in your publicity (you can also use theallendale.org/tickets , as a general address) Customers can book online directly via TicketSource, over the phone via TicketSource (0333 666 3366, except Best Ever Christmas Panto ), over the phone to the Allendale (01202 887247) or in person at the Allendale Card payment accepted online and over the phone; card or cash in person at the Allendale We'll handle both your advance and on the door sales (on the door from 45 mins. before curtain up and for 30 mins. after) Your event and tickets will benefit from the extra publicity, being listed on TicketSource For security and fraud prevention, only advance tickets sold through our TicketSource account are valid (Fees apply - see below) What do we need to put tickets on sale? A completed booking form, with event name, event date and start time. Your event image and some copy (important - see Image & print design ) Required seating layout (if appropriate, including allocated or unallocated) and total number of tickets for sale. Ticket price(s), including any concessions etc. Any minimum/advised minimum age for entry. Info about strobe, smoke or other hazards used in the event. Any other relevant information requested. Ticket handling fees charged to the hirer/event organiser 6% admin fee on all tickets we sell for the event is charged to the hirer (contract-agreed theatre shows may be different; please enquire). Please note this policy, offered to customers with a disability or additional needs. Any such complimentary tickets would be drawn from your total tickets on sale: Carer/assistant ticket: if you're unable to access a ticketed performance without the support of a carer/personal assistant, we can usually offer a complimentary ticket for your carer/assistant. Wimborne Public Toilet Facilities Community Consultation Survey Wimborne currently has limited public toilet facilities and several UK studies highlight the importance of clean, accessible and safe facilities for community wellbeing - especially for older people, families, residents with disabilities and those with medical needs. The Allendale Community Centre is asking residents, visitors and local workers to share their experiences and help shape future improvements to toilet facilities in the Community Centre. Please get in touch if you have further questions - call 01202 887247 or email info@theallendale.org The Allendale is entirely on the ground floor, except for the Minster Hall & Theatre stage and sound/lighting control area The front entrance has automatic sliding doors and a very gentle incline Cafe @ the Allendale has ramped access for entry/exit, and level access to/from toilets and the rest of the Centre Minster Hall & Theatre, The Allendale Studio (formerly Quarter Jack Hall) and Café @ the Allendale all have wide entrances The Julian Room has a slightly narrower entrance, wide enough for most manual wheelchair users There's an accessible toilet, about halfway between the front and rear of the building, plus other toilets near the front and rear There are descending-ramped emergency exits: the main front entrance/exit (close to the Minster Hall & Theatre and Reception), from The Allendale Studio (formerly Quarter Jack Hall) corridor, and the side exit Outside emergency assembly points are all on level ground Minster Hall & Theatre and The Allendale Studio both have a hearing loop Please note re. ticketed events: If you're unable to access a ticketed performance without the support of a carer/personal assistant, we can usually offer a complimentary ticket for your carer/assistant.
